Dearly Departed
As we re-enter society and begin markets again, we at Fogbarrow have begun to indulge some of our darker artistic interests in our various mediums. Our "Dearly Departed" line showcases subjects of the unusual or macabre, integrated into our natural and whimsical styles. These pieces still evoke a sort of "old world cottage" feeling, but perhaps if that cottage were inhabited by the village witch. Subjects include entymology and mycology specimens, cryptids, monsters, witches, and other spooky topics.
Cottagecore & Mori Kei
Before "cottagecore" became a trend, we had to find other ways to describe our unusual aesthetic. I often referred to it as the Japanese "mori kei" subculture. Many of my pieces are inspired by fairy tales, nature, old world decor, English cottages, and quaint village life.
Celebrating Fandoms
I will always remember my roots--tucked away in a heavy armchair, notepad in hand, sketching away at characters and symbols from my favorite books, comics, and films. These days, little has changed. I create plenty of original art, but I still enjoy the feeling of capturing something I've connected with, and sharing it with others. Some of the fandoms you'll see in my work include Studio Ghibli, Zelda, the Moomins, and Final Fantasy.
